Umeesh Duraisamy
Associate
Umeesh joined Wisteria in May 2022 and works in the Tax department. Prior to joining Wisteria, Umeesh studied Economics at University College London (UCL).
As for hobbies and interests Umeesh has an interest in web design, he has been teaching himself HTML and CSS. Umeesh is a massive football fan and supports Manchester City. When he is not watching football matches, Umeesh spends time learning more about the tactical elements of the games through videos, articles, and discussions with other people.
What led you to pursue a career in your current role, and how did you get started in the field?
I enjoyed learning about tax at both A-level and university, so a career in tax felt like a natural choice. Upon completing my degree, I applied for roles in tax and secured my first job at Wisteria.
What do you enjoy most about your job, and what do you find most challenging?
I like that my work is varied; I do a mix of personal tax, corporate tax, payroll, and consultancy in my role. The most challenging aspect of my job is keeping up with tight deadlines and ever-changing tax legislation.
What do you believe are the most important qualities for success in your current role, and how do you strive to embody those qualities in your work?
I think the most important trait for success in my current role is sound organisation skills. I strive to embody this quality by implementing systems to ensure my workflow is organised and methodical.
