Wisteria's tax department can help registering for VAT

Wisteria's tax department can help registering for VAT

Most small companies are unsure of when they must register for VAT but the rules are relatively simple.

If your taxable supplies, that is to say your sales, exceed £68,000 in the last 12 months you must register for VAT. At the point when this is the case, you only have 30 days to complete your application for registration. Also, if you believe that your taxable supplies will exceed £68,000 in the next month alone you must apply for VAT registration within 30 days.

However, the time limits for you to charge VAT are severely reduced if your business falls into the latter of these two categories. You can also voluntarily register your business for VAT at any point in time as long as you can prove that you are actively trading and entitled to register.

If you believe you should have registered for VAT, or need help registering, Wisteria's Tax department can provide advice or assistance to complete the registration. We can also process your returns for you and register you for HM Revenue and Customs VAT services online.

For more immediate VAT support go to the VAT web page.
